TRC Magazine & Mono
So, what's the news, if any?
Some Mono members have said they never received their December issue.
Their website hasn't been updated with 2010 editions, and their blog hasn't been touched since August.
The sponsor's link to Track and Race Cars has been removed from Startline Online.
Is one to presume that Mono won't be continuing it's, errr, association with TRC Magazine in 2010?
Bit of a shame really, as it was nice to get national coverage, even if it was in a relatively obscure and niche magazine - certainly better than just a single paragraph (if that) in Autosport to cover an entire meeting...

The publishers are P1 Media Ltd. There's a striking off proposal at Companies House and they've had a couple of CCJs against them. So I guess if the mag survives it will be with a different publisher. On the other hand Lazarus and Peter Mandelson rose from the dead.

I'm seriously brassed off with them, they've had my 12 month subscription and now I cant get a reply from TRC, Keith Wood or P1 media. I can only assume they've gone under. If they are resurected I certainly wont subscribe again, its worked out at about £8 or £9 per mag as I stand at present!

Message from one of the contributors to TRC mag.
Hi Andrew,
Those rumours are true, the last issue published was Novembers. It is unlikely to rise again, well not until it pays me what it owes anyway (being it was me who initiated the winding up process).
Best

Re: TRC Magazine & Mono
Sad news!
Although the exposure was limited for Mono - it was a fairly niche magazine that wasn't exactly in "every good newsagent" - it was a great idea and had a lot of potential. I wonder if there are other magazines that would suit Mono...
It does mean we can take the TRC Magazine stickers off the car though, which will free up a lot of useful space - got to keep the sponsors happy

Have to leave room for any potential series sponsor!

We'll squeeze them in somewhere... Besides, you're in charge of stickers, remember!

Thats a shame, their coverage was better than a few lines in Autosport. Looks like I have been ripped off also, I have not receieved 3 issues

Its under the threshold for getting credit card companies involved, but could be worth phoning / emailing and requesting back issues instead. Gives you something to read anyway!
In terms of what went wrong, I guess that in a recession, club racers try to keep racing and would cut back on things like a club racing magazine. Limited availability at newsagents can't help either.
