2010 Calender!

I think the Mono dates look really good. I know of a couple of F4 drivers including myself who are looking forward to beating the 2.0l at a few rounds like Oulton, Croft and Thruxton and maybe Anglesey

There is also a number of keen F4 drivers who would jump at the chance of racing at Spa. I am happy to pay a deposit to help guage numbers.

us pensioners havent got any kids and we are on permanent holiday.

Also my old bones work better in the warm summer months.

the answer to the question i assume was that you were only the oulton you mentioned
which is fair enough if it only had one grid.

perhaps the Spa thing could be arranged for some time in this period When do cscc go there anyone know?

i would love to got to Spa again but i think it will be difficult to get enough to commit.

Probably be cheaper to buy car to do the cscc sport car race tthat they run at Spa.

Or rent a shared drive off me!!! Potentially a Fiat Uno available for two to share (if it does not sell), or a shared drive in the ex works Toyota.

CSCC are racing at Spa on the weekend of July 3/4. Not sure who the organisers are (but the CSCC Office will know) but itspartof a bigger "Spa Summe Classic Meeting", I think. CSCC il have a race for the "Swinging Sixties" series and an Inter-series race for "Tin Tops", "Future Classics" & "Magnificen Sevens" combined.

This year I think that the SR & GT crowd also had a race.

I did the summer classic at Spa last summer in a friend's Crossle 9S, it was great. First weekend of July would fit well with other holidays for me. I would be happy to support a single seater race along with some of the other F4 entrants.

Will there be a race available should we want to go?

I think someone should "grab the bull by the horns" and start putting out the feelers.

It feels good to be seconded by Jeremy,it does not happen very often. I think my views on SPA are fairly well known, it is by far the best circuit we have ever raced on and that is a view shared by the majority of F1 drivers past and present, I find it hard to believe that we are allowed on such hallowed ground let alone race there, and for anyone who has not been ,you will not regret it, it has every type of corner you could possibly want,you WILL have a grin on your face after your first session.Count me in with a deposit.
I can easily arrange a trip to a gravel trap,some broken suspension arms,or an engine blow, but for a trip to SPA we probably have very capable people in our midst,I learnt French at school but we had a young french misstress and we spent our lessons throwing our pencils on the floor, picking them up and trying to look up her skirt (happy days),whereas Douglas McClay speaks the language very well, and Tony Cotton does a very good impression of a frenchman riding his bike around the paddock (just lacks a string of onions around his neck).We also have,dare I say it,Simon Davey who is probably one of the best organisers we have ever had, and I am sure I saw him in a few episodes of "Allo,Allo" and I think Jeremy Goodman was in the SS. So there we have a few names, I dont think Parky will go but he will be at the next Committe meeting so instead of doodling on beer mats,getting drunk,and falling under the table,perhaps he could bring the subject up instead of his beer.
These are my own personal views of course and are not intended to be those of the other members of TFR (got to go now,I can hear footsteps,must be time for my pills,I like the blue ones with the "V" sign on them)

Would a Nat B licence be ok for SPA? or is it the A thats required?? Any other things I should know about racing at SPA?

To race at Spa, you'll need a MSA National A or better. Unless its Leamington Spa.

Simon is currently on holiday and out of internet coverage. Before the matter arose on the forum he had spoken in outline to the Spa organisers, but because talks are at a very early stage it seemed wrong to say anything. However, as there is a lot of interest he has asked me to say that he is talking about the 3/4/5 July meeting, though other dates haven't been wholly ruled out.

It must be emphasised that these are very early days and nothing can be promised. The aim is that the club takes little if any risk on the event as the potential to lose money - especially with the weak pound against the Euro - could be high.

It will help Simon's discussions if anybody interested could email him before Christmas (admin@monoposto.co.uk).
