Need any work done on your car

Post by Dave »

After my crash at Snetterton at the last meeting of the year in 2008, I wasted several months debating whether to scrap the car and buy another or to rebuild the one I had.
I decided on the latter but snag followed obstacle and I was getting concerned that I wouldn't get finished in time for the first meeting.
I needed a new rear wing apart from other things. My old one was crushed. And i'd promised myself this year that I would fit an under tray and diffuser to see if I could get better handling. Dermot couldn't help with the wing so I rang Ewan to see where he got his. It being the profile that I wanted. No problem. He's made me a cracker. Even sprayed it the exact colour of my car. And at a price that I was very happy with.
Two weeks passed. I spoke to Ewan again. He's now fitted an undertray and diffuser. A cracking job. If i'd have had the time I couldn't have done it half as good. The price. It was less than I expected.
I don't complain to much about anything much in general. Neither do I give to much praise. I expect a fair job for a fair price. In motor racing though you generally pay through the nose for any sort of job.
So in conclusion. Ewan is a bit like the cider advert. What a refreshing change.
If you want something done on your car in a proffessional manner and at a reasonable price give the man a ring.

I would support David's endorsement of Ewan's skills. Unsurprisingly, he also has experience of, and spares for Swifts.

Based in Doncaster, he can be contacted at www.avitmotorsport.co.uk.

Wow!
What can i say!
Thanks for the plug for a start!
I have two concerns about the posting on here! One is now everyone will no i made it and if it falls off at snetterton and it causes a red flag they will hunt me down , And two samir is coming to collect his shiny new repared body work tommorrow and he will also be looking for a good deal too now!
But in all fairness i charge not what i need to to put food on the table but the price i would want to pay if i was paying !
The new work shop dedicated purley to motorsport is nearly finished and has a brand new set up floor and will be equiped with scales very soon!
and fiberglass just seems to get easyer and we are producing some very trick and fancy stuff now!
i will be at snetterton tools and parts galor to stick the defuser back on david so just listen for the noisy one in the white van and you know where to come complaine!

Thanks guys for the post it make the late nights worth while!

Wonderful! I'm glad to hear of Ewan's professionalism and cost effectiveness.

Maybe Mr parkinson could come round with the money he saved and fix my *@!#?!@ car!

I made up several replies to Pig Pen's post.
But I couldn't decide which to put in.
Strangely they all contained the phase from PPs message. @!#?!"A.

Hope to see you again this year my man.
But not as close as last year.

Yep collected my panels, they were a bit of a mess with the gel coat cracking and some holes. I didnt want a fancy job, as there is no point spending a fortune on old panels, so off they went to Avit who did a good job getting them repaired and sprayed up. As I generally like to do things myself, I dont like to pay others silly money to do something, but the price charged was good so I am happy with the service.
