I know I'm not the only Monoposto member to drive the new layout, but I did video myself when I did some laps for Radio Norfolk in our Exige. Quite why you'll want to watch this when there are onboard videos of F2 cars on YouTube I don't know, but I thought I'd post it anyway to help people learn the new layout. Some REALLY tricky bits that will take some mastering.

I'm also pleased to see that I'm quoted on the Snetterton website, on the little animated picture thing of various glowing quotes :)

Looking forwards to racing you all on the new circuit. I doubt many people will complain about it (although someone did say it was too difficult to remember where you are on the circuit as it's a bit featureless at the moment - much like Rockingham - but I don't think anyone will actually have any problems in that regard).

Has any one got any ideas on gear ratios for the new lay out? Looking at the map the new circuit joins the back straight further down, shortening it, however it does look like a quicker corner than the original, so I'm intending to go with my normal Snetterton ratio's. Any other opinions??

I think top speeds will be a little slower with the new layout. Whilst you are correct that the new corner onto the straight is faster but further down, you will still be doing a lower speed at that point on the straight compared to before.

I would guesstimate the decrease in top speed to be two or three mph, at least on a 2 litre slicks-and-wings car. But it's more guess than estimate. Sticking with the previous ratios would be a safe option, and unlikely to influence lap times by more than a tenth or two. There is rarely more than two or three tenths to be found in gear ratios (less with standard engines), unless you are geared too short and have to lift to avoid over-revving).

I am sticking with my existing top ratio. Intermediate gears might need a few tweaks though!!
