Hi all,

Not that you know me as I did not really introduce my self, although I did talk to a bunch of people earlier today.

Damm shame about the weather but it could have been worse!

Found the people I spoke to, to be a very friendly and willing to chat, despite not actually knowing who I was or if I owned a car. Thats got a be a good sign for promoting monoposto.

I wish I could say the same about other motorsport events I have spectated at or been involved with in one way or another.

I Have a little bit of a better idea about the different types of cars out there.

As I have a bike engineed car some got more attention than others- I was impressed with the build quality of the Jks speeds? - Looks like an up to date serious race car (despite the fact the chap I spoke to said his was actually a rebuilt 2002 version)

I also spotted a few 2000ltr cars that looked quite serious. Obviously all your cars were lovely and I'm sure equally great fun to drive.

Yes, I did see you Tristan but you looked busy at the time so I left you too it!

The battle between Kat and I believe it was Chris Woodhouse was good to watch! - that girl can drive, "kat that is not a put down." The speed difference of the tuned cars was very obvious. And the engine note was quite different - I have noticed this in other championships also with differnt versions of engines with mild tuning. Obviously this may also be down to gearing and gears used etc....

Bit of a concern as not only do I need to loose about 10 stone to match the weight of kat, I need 1/2 a tonne of torque, about 40bhp and big bag of hope, ability and luck. I think the first on the list and perhaps the last will be the biggest challenge.

It might be next year now, but hopefully the next time I see you I will be racing (yellow back ground, black cross - looking worried!)

Never too busy to chat to someone in motorsport or wanting to get involved! Well, occasionally I am too busy, but it rarely lasts longer than a few minutes. My attention span isn't long enough!
Glad you made it, and glad you enjoyed it. It IS a friendly club, and everyone understands that it caters for every type of racer, of every level of ability.

Looking forward to seeing you out there. You are right, Kat, Chris and Adrian are pretty talented drivers, although Chris does seem to have a lot of good fortune on his side this year (without wishing to make it sound like he's only winning due to luck, which certainly isn't the case).

Yesterday was a bit weird with regard to some of the results, some drivers who usually run at the front found that they lacked mechanical grip or appropriate feedback, and were well out of position. Nothing new in that, its why we enjoy watching wet F1 races where the usual running order is remixed.

It is quite difficult for a car and driver to approach the minimum weight in the Mono1000 class, this is one of the reasons for the introduction of the Mono1400 class with an increase of 50kg to the minimum weight. Both 1400s currently racing use 1000cc engines, but we look forward to someone installing a Hayabusa, that should provide the torque you need!

I was joking about the weight thing , clearly I wont be as light as kat but I'm in pretty good shape for some one who is past thier peak (shouldnt really say that @ 29, as I noticed some mature gentlemen who were in the 1000cc class who looked quite rapid) and im not the tallest person in the world either. The car will be in the lighter 1000cc class as that was it's design.

Im sure it will be not much over the 400kg weight. (helium in the tyres)

If I was to go in the other class, which I may later consider, I think I would perhaps build a jks with a busa motor, the chassi looks strong enough - I did look at the listings on the wall at silverstone (not many in that class?)
