advice needed - what connects to this?

Hi guys,

possibly a silly question but i dont want to mess up

on my c20xe engined F393 I have this thingy on the end of the fuel rail (I guess its a pressure regulator?) there is an outlet/inlet pipe coming from it with nothing attached. (see lower pic)

from what ive read normally pressure regulators have an outlet connected to the air box but on my car there is not such a connector on my air box for it to connect to.

elsewhere on the car ive also noted this bosch air pressure sensor thats not connected to anything......should these two be connected?

cheers
mike

No. The bosch one elsewhere is measuring atmospheric pressure, and the one on the fuel rail COULD be used to measuring airbox pressure, but it would normally be mapped to take into account the change of fuel pressure with manifold depression. As it isn't connected, just leave to atmosphere and all will be well.

thanks guys,

what was making me wonder is the fact there is a rubber hose attached to the air pressure sensor that goes all the way up to the engine. it has a loop in the end of the hose but isnt connected to anything. perhaps its so it can measure the atmospheric pressure at the engine rather than inside the side pod where the sensor is
