Electric hook up for Silverstone

Not sure where we will be located in the paddock at Silverstone but in preparation I would like to obtain / purchase the correct power adaptor, I recall that they don't use the conventional 16Amp. Does anyone know what they do use as it is something I don't recognise!!
Thanks
Eddie

Hi Eddie,
Most of the outer paddock uses a 32amp 5 pin Red connector. I got an adapter from Silverstone Factors, based at the entrance to Silverstone.
Cheers,
Mark Smith

blue plugs are single phase 3 pin, red ones are 5 pin 3 phase plugs.

Reds are not always 5 pin.
230v ac
Blue 16amp 32amp
3 pin phase neutral and earth.
415v ac
Red 16amp or 32amp
4 pin 3 phase and earth
5 pin 3 phase neutral and earth

if the plugs ade 3 phase how do you use them for a single phase connection?

Use the 5 pin plug.
Live/phase (brown) into L1
Neutral (blue) into N
Earth ( green/yellow) into E
You use only 3 of the available 5 connections. This will be fine unless it goes into a 3 phase R.C.D socket where it may trip out.

Looking at Andrews plan they are mcb and not rcd so you should be ok. Don't try a single phase into a 4 pin plug as there is no neutral. It would put 415 volts down your cable!!!!!!!

The girl at Silverstone auto factors knows which one to sell you if you tell her where you are parked…..simples!

And there was me thinking it was simple. I guess I will have to wait and see where we end up and visit The factors!
Thanks

Given we're in the bit of paddock marked "arse end of nowhere" you're probably all getting a little overexcited
Seriously though, if some people were to sort out the adaptor for the red sockets and are prepared to give people a socket from the supply feed in their trailer/motorhome/extension lead, it'll probably work out for those that find power an essential.

In my day we were lucky to get Tarmac and a running tap

Ahh yes, the old main paddock at Brands Hatch... we used to fight for the right to get on the slope above scrutineering because it was the only tarmac... and power?, forget it!
