Brands Hatch pit access

Expect there to be increased restrictions on vehicle movements, especially service vehicles to the inner paddock following the exploits of a couple of knuckle draggers at Brands Hatch. For those that are unaware, someone drove through the tunnel, managed to get into the pit lane, and then joined the circuit in a VW Polo road car towards the end of the VW Fun Cup 4 hour race.
However, there will be repercussions and restricted access to the centre paddock is the easiest for MSV to implement. Likely to be tighter restrictions to the outer paddock too.

Yup, I was with my car in parce ferme when Jack Cottle went through the weighbridge/scrutineering garage and scooted off down the pitlane. When he came back the girl in the car was totally distraught and had to be comforted by 2 of the lady marshals while 'jack the lad' just showed no concern about anything, laughing and joking about it ... until the media started taking his picture.
Jonathan Palmer has cautioned against any knee jerk reactions (see below) ... I will see at the Superprix in July.
Jack has been very cocky about it all week with his "it woz so wicked" and people calling him "legend"... then last night huge back peddling and he wants to apologise and it was only a bit of fun!!
Jonathan Palmer, MSV chief executive, MSV, said: “I am very angry about this idiotic stunt, which is unprecedented. It is clear from the video filmed inside the car that the driver was determined to find a way to access the circuit and disrupt the race, without any thought as to the potential consequences of his actions.
“This was a deliberately reckless act which endangered competitors and marshals and ruined the race for competitors and spectators.
“We are in close contact with Kent Police and we will be doing everything we can to support a successful criminal prosecution. I am pleased to learn that an arrest has been made.
“Within seconds of this car going on to the track, the circuit was red-flagged to stop the race. Systems are in place to restrict circuit access to inappropriate vehicles, but of course an attempt to sabotage a race in this fashion is difficult to completely prevent given its deliberate and unexpected nature.
“All race meetings are run by MSA-registered organising clubs which are responsible for managing circuit activity, and clearly we will review procedures with clubs and the MSA to see what lessons can be learnt.
“However, there should be no knee-jerk reactions in response to this stupidity.”

He's had legal advice to appear sorry and to apologise, but a leopard won't change its spots. He's not sorry in the slightest, this stage is just an attempt to improve his chances when in front of a court.

His apology is interspersed with comments like "I'd definitely do it again" and "it was a mega rush" and "I live every day like it's my last".
As fake apologies go, it isn't very good.

I was at Brands this weekend. The tunnel was manned (as you'd expect) but also my Msv media pass was scanned at the circuit entrance gate, as was Emma's ticket. This means they know whose pass has been used so you may not be able to use a pass that has been scanned in once to get other guests in without someone actually being scanned out.
