Anyone had any dialogue with the MSA?

Cheers

The number of cars racing in the UK that pass this reg is about 8. All of Monoposto and F3 Cup are inelegible to race.

As for enforcing mods, do the men in suits at the MSA really think a dodgy bit of "steel" welded badly into place one evening, by a bloke you met in the pub, to satisfy the regs will IMPROVE the strength of the roll over bars? I doubt it.

I would also like to protest all single seaters this weekend as well to make the MSA own up to their stupidity, although the cost is rsther prohibitive! It's actually only slightly more stupid than lifing seatbelts, or minimum ride height rules... But what do I know. I only pay their wages in the hope they one day employ clever, sensible people to start the blue book from scratch.

Well.. the club with which I race - or rather their safety scrutineering zealots - are intending to apply the letter of the law - or, at least, their take on it!

This is not an issue. If you read the quoted ten-tenths thread in full you will see that the problem was resolved and the discussion died out over a month ago.

There was some discussion relating to the interpretation of Roll Over Protection Systems for single seaters at the start of the season. This appears to have been caused by the highlighting of ROPS regulations in this year's Blue Book, making it appear that the regulations had been changed, but in fact the regulations have not changed materially for some years.

The Club was in detailed communication with the MSVR Scrutineering team and others about this matter some months ago. With their help and advice our competitors have not encountered any difficulties this season relating to this matter that I am aware of.

If anyone wants more information about this please contact me directly.

Sorry Simon

I didn't intend to create a scare story.

I just wondered whether anyone had obtained any formal clarification from the MSA as the club that I race with (or rather the scrutineers that work at their events) are absolutely determined to throw a dozen cats among the pigeons.

Regards

Iain
