A Noob Looking For Help!

Hi everyone, my name is Drew Harding, I live in Farnham, Surrey and am 27 years old.

I’m keen to get into motorsport but must confess am a complete noob! I’ve been researching the different types of motorsport, costs, licenses etc and have identified Monoposto as something that I’d really like to do – it looks like heaps of fun and the apparent friendly atmosphere also appeals, not to mention the cars look amazing!

Right now I am not in a position to purchase my own vehicle and my mechanical knowledge is fairly limited but I still want to get involved and understand the sport a bit more.

With this in mind, I am hoping to find a team / driver that would be open to letting me work with them throughout 2012 to understand the sport, help out / muck in at the pits and learn more about the actual mechanics behind the vehicles etc… Now obviously I realise this may seem like a risk / hindrance to some people but I can assure you I am a quick learner, trust worthy and reliable. I’m not scared to get stuck in as long as I understand what I’m doing. Just need a bit of guidance!

In return for working / learning with the team / driver I can bring some skills to the table. I am a Digital Marketing Manager at a design and marketing agency and am certified by the Chartered Institute of Marketers. I can help out with any online marketing you may require including social media, wordpress websites, email marketing, blogging, paid search adverts etc. You can check out my twitter account here: http://twitter.com/drew_harding

Now don’t all rush at once ;) but I’d appreciate it if you could let me know if what I’m asking is even feasible or if I’m on cloud 9?

Looking forward to hearing your responses,
Regards
Drew

Hello Drew

Welcome to the Monoposto Racing Club!

If you would like to email me on admin@monoposto.co.uk I may well be able to help locate a Club member who would like some help in 2012

If you have limited experience and funds I think helping an established competitor is a very sensible way of learning the ropes, and avoiding some of the pitfalls (to mix metaphors). You might also like to come to the New Drivers Seminar we are planning for 26 Feb at Race Retro. There is more info on this at http://www.startline.org.uk/slol63/2012docs/nrds.pdf
