Saying hello

Post by Tailgate »

Hi All,

I'm not sure if folk usually make an introduction but I am so here goes.....I'm a newbie hoping to make a foray into single seater racing next year, currently going through the prelims of gaining a licence.

It's looking like Mono1800 with a Zetec will be a good route for me to start, I intend to do as many rounds with this excellent club as work commitments/distance allows so I'll hopefully get to say hello in person soon. I did get to Mallory in August to spectate and must say the club has a very friendly vibe although I’m sure there’s some healthy competition simmer beneath the smiling faces !

I must say a quick thanks to Tristan and Tony for getting me registered on the forum, apparently my previous attempts ended in the trash (oh the shame) but now my self esteem has been restored.

Good luck to all for the rest of the season.

Dave

Welcome to you Dave,

I think that a FF1800 Zetec is a sensible choice of car to start racing with, and the Mono1800 class have indulged in some excellent racing this season with a good spread of race winners.

Thanks Patrick,

Whilst there are lots of interesting options, getting to grips (no pun intended) with slicks and adjustable suspension will be enough of a challenge without adding wings to the equation. Initially I did look towards a Kent engined car but hear they can be fragile and I guess if I get the right Zetec car there is always the conversion option at a later date.

Dave.

Hi Dave,
I see you are in the north east. Why not pop along to Croft at the weekend and have a chat with some mono people who will give you some advice.

Hi Lee,
I would have loved to be at Croft this weekend, only 15mins from my home but unfortunately I'm overseas at the moment............I'm not a happy chappy knowing I'll miss a good opportunity to chat to folk and watch some motor racing !!
Thanks all the same, Dave.
