Re: Appendix J - Changes
Hi CountJohnny Good questions, which (to be clear) relate to changes in the 2012 "Blue Book". J5.2.7 appears to be aimed at restrictions on the fitment and dimensions of aerodynamic devices on saloons and similar cars which are not originally designed for racing. However it's worded in a very confus...

Re: 2012 Mono 2000 grids
What we saw was a very good driver from the BARC series come to Mono and took the challenge to the fastest car/driver combo and did very well. No, what we saw was a driver from the BARC series come to Mono and knowingly run with a car which was ineligible at the Oulton event - the team had delibera...

Re: 2012 Mono 2000 grids
This season 18 people competed at some point in Mono 2000, which has been Monoposto’s fastest growing class over the last two years. As is always the case, not all this year’s runners will run again next year, but we currently expect the Mono 2000 entry next year to be similar to this year, or bette...

Re: Overalls.........
There is now only one standard which is accepted by the MSA for Race Suits. It's FIA 8856-2000, and this must be embroidered onto the suit or shown on a label sewn onto the suit. Label from my own overalls is pictured here (I hope). Race Suit FIA Badge.jpg You'll see the label does not show a date r...

Re: Rolling start? Silverstone
My understanding is that the "old" Pits complex will be used (by the BritCar field), race starts will use the "old" grid and that the usual assembly area (reached round the back of the Medical Centre) will also be used.

Re: Rolling start? Silverstone
We did ask competitors views about this before last year's Silverstone event (albeit it had "only" 44 starters compared to 54 this year) The conclusion was that the lack of experience competitors have with rolling starts is a key consideration against using them on a one-off basis. In fact a signifi...

Re: Transponder hire?
Contact TSL via their website tsl-timing.com
They usually hire transponders for £30-£40 per meeting, but you will need to book it in advance
As Tristan says, you do have to have one.
