Bob Hatton

I have received an email from Janice Hatton bearing very sad news. "Bob passed away on Sunday 2nd, these are the funeral arrangements should you like to come. Bob's funeral will take place on Thursday 27th September, 11.45 am at the Amersham crematorium. Bob would have preferred no flowers however, ...

I found the following instructions on lockwiring interesting and educational.

Probably just me.

Phil Anstruther

David Cox writes: "I heard the sad news this morning that Phil has died. Those that have been around in Mono a while will have known Phil as an active Mono racer, sometime Secretary of the Club and father of Nick and Chris who both raced with us until marriage, children etc intervened. Phil had a se...

Re: Medicals. Licence time

I used Dr Martin Lane in the centre of Ombersley (Worcestershire). 07429 182572. I found his fees very reasonable indeed, and he is very flexible on when he can do the medical. Nice chap too.

Doug Woodhouse

Doug Woodhouse, father of Chris, and a well known character of Mono paddocks, sadly passed away this morning. As well as supporting Chris in his Jedi, Speads and latterly Dallara racing, Doug was a successful speed events driver with brother Roy in a fearsome twin turbo Rover V8 March 772, and earli...

NAMES - PLEASE READ THIS

Some years ago we decided that either real names should be used own the forum, or if "handles" were used (like I use "RedRedWine" for reasons I can't remember) your "signature" which you should set on your control panel should give your real name (as mine is shown below). Please can you follow this ...

Re: to those who use trailers

How nice the trailers are to tow depends on the loading. When it was open, my Brian James 2 wheeler was superbly stable but when covered in it got a bit frisky until we changed the weight distribution a bit. A 4 wheel trailer is usually a lot easier to tow than a 2 wheeler, though I stick with a 2 w...

Re: Seat belts - things you should know!

I've just got new belts for my "static" Dallara from Dermot/TRS. Absolutely great service, superb quality at a very attractive price. I cannot praise Dermot and James highly enough and offer a full endorsement.

Re: David Wall

David Cox told me a nice story that "unusually" for David Wall involved alcohol and women. When he was on the committee he was given the job of giving Mary Cox (who was then administrator) a bouquet of flowers at the dinner dance. However, during the course of a sociable evening, during which he was...

Re: David Wall

I believe David Cox will be finding out about the funeral and we'll then put the information on the forum, startline and Facebook. Although I didn't know David through Mono I met him when he was looking after Chris Dowson's hillclimb Pilbeam Repco, (late 80's) with which Charles Wardle won the Champ...

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

Question for the cogniscenti. Being old, overweight and with mild occasional claustrophobia I have just found my newly acquired device is massively more pleasant to wear without the padding - this might not be the case when the car is jogging about. The HANS leaflet says that removing the padding (v...

Re: Paddleshift

Might be an idea to ask on Uphill Racers as hillclimbers and sprinters get up to all manner of engineering escapades.

Some of the 397 to 301s with conventional boxes seem to have done ok in the past.

Dammit, accidentally agreed with Kevan. Promise I won't do that again.
