Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

So.....just fitted HANS posts to my lid, easy and done in less than 10 mins.... Being a panic merchent I thought I would do some more research and unless the MSA print some clear guidlines this may be a minefield this coming season. Mono site says you must have certificate/sticker to say posts are f...

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

Yes, agree....however Bell's own site, and that of the MSA is less than informative. I have done a bit more reading and found that Demon Tweeks sell a set that can be retro fitted as long as the helmet does not require drilling...which mine does not. Also the FIA document only recommends factory fit...

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

I see the benefits...always have, I have a couple of questions regarding the practicalities of this for next year that I just can't find an answer to....well not easily and I am still young enough to be impatient  1) Me and Dad share a Speads, I am 99% certain that a 30deg will be needed, the ...

Re: Snetterton Photos - Whos Who?

Ooo crikey, no offence meant ;) , I certainly intend to order a few from Andrew later this week I just meant when we were watching there must have been 20-30 amateur photographers and 5 or so pros. Nowdays no one seems to drop you a card so it seems tricky to track them down... I can oly find one pe...

Snetterton Photos - Whos Who?

Hi All, apart from Andrew (Norwich Photo) does anyone else know any sources of photographs from the weekend?

Happy to find both amateur and pros, it just occurs to me that there must be 1000s of photos taken and I never seem to find any.

Cheers All

Two Driver Scruitineering?

I'm pleased to say me (Chris) and my Dad (Mike) are finally making our 2012 debut in Mono. We finished last year with the intention of a quick engine change in our Speads and her we are abou 10 months later! It drops right in we were told.........yeah right ;) In between we have managed to hospitali...

Mono on Radio 2

Driving home tonight (friday) when Monoposto @ Brands Hatch got a big shoutout on Radio 2, nearly crashed the car in excitment, can't wait for tomorrow!

Brands Hatch 2011 - Thes best and worst of customer service

Its very unusual for me to feel moved enough to praise/complain about events but that is how I feel about Brands Hatch 2011. Firstly the praise , I can not emphasise enough how well both Simon Davey and MSVR treated all the Mono competitors this weekend. Simon worked tirelessly as always, keeping us...

Re: Which Class 2011?

Thanks for the replies, I need to do some thinking, my initail thoughts on some of your points are: "Tony Davies showed that a 1700 Renault can be fully competative in the Mono1600 class, his record should be better, but in recent seasons his car suffered from minor electrical faults. Several 1700 R...

Which Class 2011?

Hi all, I have a conundrum (sounds painful I know), the question is what to do next year? I have been racing my Alpa Formula Renault in the Classic class this year and thoroughly loved it, (except Spa, blown engine, Dad driving, not me!). However at SEMSECs last race of the year I ended in style by ...

Re: Mallory Motors TV

Right this is going to be a bit vague, I have managed to record it on the sky box at my girlfriends mum and dads house, not being too much of a techno buff I'm not sure if it would be possible to record this to dvd/vhs but will try this week.

Re: Crash Helmet Stickers

Thanks for the replies, I hope the scrutineers would be fine with it, as long as I wasn't covering any damage which I'm not.

Oh well, I'll sticker it up for thruxton and see what happens.

Re: Discipline, Justice, Fairness, and Other Concepts

I agree that the flag system was floored at Brands, I saw the yellows and safety car boards (and having never having raced under safety car conditions was just a little excited  ) and adjusted my pace accordingly, a lap later and still no safety car :( but then I happened upon the red flags on ...

Crash Helmet Stickers

Seeing that the Monoposto guys and gals give the impression of being a knowledgeable lot I thought I'd give you a go at answering a question that couldn't even be answered by the fountain of information that is ten-tenths! Are you allowed to put vinyl stickers on a crash helmet, both from a scrutine...

Re: Two drivers, possible?

Thanks for the replies, I didn't realise there were two practice sessions, if the old man doesn't fancy driving I better work on the fitness!

Anyway thanks again, Chris

PS Great Photos Andrew, Great Videos Tristan.
