Re: "Pro" Teams in Mono
Pro means paid? - how many drivers are paid to race in mono or how many teams? Websites and freebies from local businesses do not constitute a pro. Nor shiny trucks ... Sponsors might help reduce some costs but after you add the initial extra investment to secure sponsorship and time to get it, it i...

Re: Racing Exposure winter features
Have sent one Rookie profile too - accompanied with a lovely picture taken by Norwich pictures at Silverstone - purchased to produce a large print for the local tyre fitting company who now help us out. After racing in mono... We have since removed the engine that we raced with at Silverstone, a few...

Hi and thanks
Finally got the login sorted for the forum.
Really enjoyed Silverstone despite making a bad set up decision before the first race - Early days and plenty to learn.
Everyone was very welcoming. Several people have been in contact with me since, offering help and advice.
Highly recommended

Re: Steering wheel question?
Well that's that then! (as I suspected ) I can live with it the way it is for now. Was just looking at possible improvements - whilst tidying up the wiring loom and simplifying for reliability. everything will just stay where it is for now - was just looking at getting rid of the wires from the stee...

Steering wheel question?
I'm looking at replacing my steering wheel with the open top type, but I'm sure there have been some changes with MSA regs regarding steering wheels? " So I'm hoping some one on here might be able to help? " Are open top wheels legal with the MSA Regs? I heard some people have cut and altered wheels...

Re: silverstone speed?
Not trying to make any comparisions to the Jedi championship cars, (I think somewhere way back I got caught up in the discussion about running different cars in the same race and saftey issues with the strength of carbon tub cars, and I might have mentioned when some one compared the speed of classe...

Re: silverstone speed?
Marky mark, I have to be a bit careful what I say, not to upset any one. I believe the winniner at Donnington was the factory car driver, He is suposed to be quick, he openly admits thier are some fast drivers in the championship these days. Since I have been watching the form he has not faired to w...

silverstone speed?
I'm just wondered if any one (mono 1000) had accurately calibrated speed sensors possibley data loggin, could tell me what kind of speed they were getting up to on saturday? - Down the start/finish straight, through the first corner copse and the staight before maggotts? (I know it is'nt really that...

Re: GRID SIZES
I retract all my previous statements on this topic since going to silverstone to watch mono. I know nothing - was based on information provided by previous expierenced racers - I can not see speed differences being an issue - as every one has to contend with slower cars, also I do not think speed in...

Re: potential new guy did make silverstone.
I was joking about the weight thing , clearly I wont be as light as kat but I'm in pretty good shape for some one who is past thier peak (shouldnt really say that @ 29, as I noticed some mature gentlemen who were in the 1000cc class who looked quite rapid) and im not the tallest person in the world ...

potential new guy did make silverstone.
Hi all, Not that you know me as I did not really introduce my self, although I did talk to a bunch of people earlier today. Damm shame about the weather but it could have been worse! Found the people I spoke to, to be a very friendly and willing to chat, despite not actually knowing who I was or if ...

Re: GRID SIZES
Phuston - What you say makes sense, especially as there is not much difference in these classes. Recently I was at mallory, traveling faster than most and it caused no problem to me - probably because there is a good view of the traffic ahead, It did break the flow of the drive, which made it a bit ...

Re: GRID SIZES
Tristan, I was well aware that his "mini mono's" statement was a remark about the fact the cars are probably, lighter, smaller and smaller cc - rather than being offensive, and I made the comment maybe because your scared was clearly meant as some sort of a joke! - how could that be serious coming f...

Re: GRID SIZES
I my self have no valid view based on lack of expierence, But speaking to the guy's who race the same car as I hope to soon, they have told me it is a bit of a touchy subject 2ltr cars and 1000cc b.e.c. cars. These guy's do not compete in mono (have done at some point) who's lap times at the same ci...

Re: Makes you think... (warning do not open if you are scared)
I do not proclaim to be an expert on this topic, I barely know what the different catagories of cars are. I supose if one car is built like a battering ram - compared with the others? Defending the Jedi. I've been watching a few Jedi races and video footage. I watched the factory driver in the facto...
