Re: Hospitality - what would you like?

Sounds like a really good idea. How about a class on "how to drive this damn thing around a circuit in a better time?"

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Thanks for all the pointers. Looks like I get to play in the garage after the last race of the season then. Until then I will just make sure the tank is fully topped up every time I got out.

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Thanks guys, sorted it. You were spot on Avit. As long as there is 6 litres in the tank its fine under hard cornering. 5 is ok but if I really throw it into a corner it starts to play up. 4 is probably fine, it plays up like it did at Brands. 3 and I hit 0 pressure under hard left bends. 2 and there...

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Ok, so the fault reared its head again when running the car up and down a 1/2 mile stretch of factory grounds. Thankfully Dax's wheel is telling me my fuel pressure sucks, so it is a fuel problem after all. Only question is where. Only happens under heavy acceleration out of a corner. Makes no diffe...

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Thanks for those emails James, ill let you know how I get over the week. Thankfully our local haulage company is going to let me run the car in their yard up to test. Doubt it will get close to replicating the problem but worth a shot.

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

No, i took out 5 and then when I removed the pump etc there was a lot, i am guessing around 3 litres, on the floor of the workshop. I was expecting some but it filled the tray I had.

Now on the path of cleaning everything and changing anything that might be causing a problem but I really am not sure.

Fuel Tank puzzle

Evening all Hope someone can determine the problem but I think I know what it is. Just want to be sure. 3/4 through both races at Brands, when running at high revs the engine would dip and on a couple of occasions almost cut feeling like it was out of fuel. The worst occurance was graham hill bend, ...

Re: A very silly view from the Back at Brands Indy

No worries, how did Luke do?

Would have loved to see the last race but time pressures meant we had to get back up north.

A very silly view from the Back at Brands Indy

The weekend has come to a close and all that is left now is the rather long drive home with a sunburnt wife and very tired eyes. But as this was always going to a tongue in cheek look at the mono 1600/1800/moto class for the Brands races, here is part two. J & P managed to get all set up in nice tim...

James

I am probably heading over to Ewan's with his mini gearbox next weekend, maybe a bit later. If you want I can drop by yours and pick up any parts you want dropping over there.

Re: Where can I get my Zetec Head Skimmed?

Having run Hillman Imps for a long time, blown head gaskets and warped heads are almost an annual occurance. A good snarl up on the M25 is normally enough to warp the ally head. Never had a problem with the block though, a skim was enough to fix the problem. No idea where to get the head skimmed, bu...

Re: The JP Correspondence - View from the Back Brands GP

The final bit.... OK, so I didnt expect a mention in startline but heck here we go. So, ok, yep, we got to the qualifying. Joe got his car sorted which was massively important to the JPS paddock tents, as not having Joe takes some of the fun out of the race. In the assembly area Joe and Pete were gr...
