Re: Seems cicumstances are against me, yet again!
Karl, Like your good self, I had to cancel the Donnington meet after they moved it to Sunday evening - harumph and the like. Living in Plymouth, it would mean by the time we were packed up and gone, I'd have been lucky to get back home much before 3am. Not funny when you're in work at 7! Silverstone...

Re: Refurbishing Technomag wheels???
Thanks Arty,
And as a Brucey bonus, if I do laquer the rims, I can polish them myself to a reasonable finish, then the laquer will give them a nice sheen that doesn't need endless polishing! I love it when a plan comes together!

Planning ahead for Anglesey...
Having never been to Anglesey before and not knowing the local roads, can anyone give me a rough idea as to how long it takes to get there from the M6/M56?
Nick.

Re: Refurbishing Technomag wheels???
Thanks for your replies, chaps. I must admit though, as this is only a non essential, purely cosmetic task, I'm looking for the cheapest option. I don't mind spraying them myself, as long as I know which primer to use. Do you think a normal etch primer is ok with magnesium (I take it they ARE magnes...

Refurbishing Technomag wheels???
Can anybody throw some light on how to best do this?
Can they be blasted or are they too soft?
Once stripped, do I need any special kind of primer?
Can the rims be polished?
eg..

Hewland Mk9 Gear oil ?????????????
Hi all, I need to do some work on the FVL's gearbox and am a little stuck regarding replacement oil. EP90, no problem there, but when I went to get some earlier, there is a choice between GL4 and GL5 spec. Something to do with additives I believe. I am told if wrongly selected, damage to sea...

Re: Snetterton Camping
Hi Andy, There's no electrical points in the main paddock area at Snett. If you manage to secure a space near the garages, you can plug in there. Last year though, the Mono allocated area was too far away for this. A few seasoned competitors had generators, but if you just want to give your battery ...

Re: Vauxhall Lotus Dampers and Spring rates
Yes, I agree about unknown second hand units. I'm fairly sure that my adjusters aren't changing the level of damping and to top it off, the knurled adjusters are sh4gged maing it very difficult to see what they're set to! What I would prefer, is a more user friendly knob type adjuster at the bottom ...

Re: Vauxhall Lotus Dampers and Spring rates
Thanks for the input, chaps. Sorry you had such a time of it with Spax, Tristan. I may well take you up on your Excel offer! :) I have the 'Competition car suspension' book which explains all about wheel/spring rates etc quite well. Dermot, I take on board everything you say about buying at Autospor...

Vauxhall Lotus Dampers and Spring rates
Can anyone help? My White Power dampers are well past their best and the springs that go with them are ropey looking too, hence I would like to get some replacements at the Autosport show. Does anybody know the open and closed lengths of the dampers (I haven't taken them off yet to measure), but mor...
