Re: Engine pre-heaters
I'm in the Dermot camp...mostly production engines with more forgiving tolerances...I'm not saying it shouldn't be warmed up but a good fast idle for as long as the cooling system can stand it then shut it down to let it heat soak, I would have thought doing this 30 mins before heading off to the as...

Re: Forum -> Facebook Groups
I'm not a big fan of facebook, I like the current forum format, I do realise it requires effort from the admistrators to keep it up and running...its much appreciated.

Re: Winter testing
Lots of good pointer's and suggestions...thanks. The circuit I did my ARDS on is local, cheap and will be ok to give the car and me some runs, I can at least check engine, brakes, gear box etc, it isn't the best surface so will be more Acropolis than Donnington but should be ok for the basics. I've ...

Re: Winter testing
I can imagine when testing it would be very easy just to circulate and not achieve a great deal unless you set some aims. However, as 'samier' says, in my case I need to get comfortable in the car without the pressure of a meeting and its timetables etc, maybe then progressing to playing with adjust...

Winter testing
Well, I managed to source a car for the 1800 class, needs some work but hopefully I'll get it sorted well before the 2011 season kicks off, hopefully get some testing in myself so come my first race I don't make a complete fool of myself !! I was curious to know how much testing the "regulars" do du...

Re: Saying hello
Hi Lee,
I would have loved to be at Croft this weekend, only 15mins from my home but unfortunately I'm overseas at the moment............I'm not a happy chappy knowing I'll miss a good opportunity to chat to folk and watch some motor racing !!
Thanks all the same, Dave.

Re: Saying hello
Thanks Patrick, Whilst there are lots of interesting options, getting to grips (no pun intended) with slicks and adjustable suspension will be enough of a challenge without adding wings to the equation. Initially I did look towards a Kent engined car but hear they can be fragile and I guess if I get...

Saying hello
Hi All, I'm not sure if folk usually make an introduction but I am so here goes.....I'm a newbie hoping to make a foray into single seater racing next year, currently going through the prelims of gaining a licence. It's looking like Mono1800 with a Zetec will be a good route for me to start, I inten...
