Spa Update - now with important amendment!

Post by Paperman »

The Spa Summer Classic Meeting on 10/11/12 June is approaching, and we will soon be emailing out the "Specific Instructions" for competitors.

A few advance points for Monoposto competitors...
  • - This year the organisers have issued vehicle passes. Each entry will get two passes for the F1 paddock and 1 pass for the car park on the outside of the track opposite the pits. Passes will be mailed out in the next few days.
    - We have a very big entry this year, divided into two grids. Monoposto will have to have 5 and in a few cases 6 cars per garage. The garages are very large so with a little co-operation this should be achievable. However the paddock area behind the garages will be very congested so please park up sensibly and only behind your allocated garage. Please do not bring non-essential vehicles into the F1 paddock area. If possible remove non-working trailers to the trailer park area.
    - There is a contingent of Danish Monoposto racers competing in the Mono Classic and Mono 1800 classes this year. Please take the time to say hello to them.
    - As in previous years the RACB will again be responsible for safety scrutineering. They take a very pragamatic approach to this, but two key areas that are important to note are that competitors personal race clothing helmet etc must be FIA compliant, and fire extinguishers must have a current valid service label. There is a list of the RACB safety equipment requirements on the Roadbook website at http://www.roadbook.be If you have any questions about this please contact me
    - This year we will have our regular MSVR UK Clerk of the Course Brian Poulter at Spa. Eligibility scrutineering will be handled by the Monoposto & MSV F3 assistent scrutineer Alister Poulter.
    - Remember that all cars competing in Monoposto classes must comply with Monoposto Regulations including the 40 mm minimum ride height requirement, and all cars must comply with FIA noise limits (which are similar to the UK's)
    - There will be a deputy Monoposto Administrator at this event - Russ Giles - who as you know is a Monoposto Board member, a very experienced racer, and who is also is very familar with the Spa venue
Let's hope the weather is as good as last year. It should be a great meeting!

ADDITION!

Fire extinguisher saftey requirements are now: "All Plumbed-In extinguisher systems must be secured by a minimum of 2 screw-locked metallic straps (not by over-centre clips)"

Demon Tweeks apparently have suitable fittings available
