Thought this might be an interesting topic... Your replies determine if it is.
Who uses ear plugs when racing? If you do, why? If you don't, why?
I do. I find that the muted sound is far less of a distraction (allowing me to concentrate on driving more), and that engine problems (changes of tone) are more easily heard. Plus the reduction in wind noise is less fatiguing.
What about everyone else?

I have never used earplugs. If I did, I don't think I would hear the engine above the tinnitus .

I always wear them now and have for the past few seasons as I also have tinnitus. If I don't wear them my ears really hurt from the sound of the engine. For those without tinnitus I suggest you wear them to avoid getting it.

We've seen Tristan fitting his ear plugs, but never seen him removing them. I think he's just filling his head with foam.
