How much for a set of Avons?

Hope to draw on the collective mono experience pool. My local tyre dealer is an Avon center and the boss there is keen to sell me race tyres. I've given him the model number (is that the right term?) for the Avons on the car and he has come back with a price a shade over £600 for a full set.

Is this a fair price?

Depends on what tyres they are!

I have also tried to get Avons from a tyre wholesaler but in my experience they are cheaper from Avon or BMTR.

Call them both.

I have an AVON franchise myself and its cheaper for me to get them from bmtr !

10992 front 10993 rears are same size as zetec tyres but worth a second a lap but only last 6 races

On another note, have you finished with my 18/27 ratio.

The Avon tyres designed for FFZetec are about £200 cheaper and last longer.

Available from BMTR or direct from Avon.

We are trying to get a gentlemans agreement to use the correct Avon tyres in MonoZtec to save costs especially as most drivers with standard FFZetec have the correct Avons Slicks & Wets.
