MSV F3 Cup

Post by Paperman »

MSVR have announced the MSV F3 Cup for 2011. This is a series for F3 cars which MSVR are promoting and organising. More details from the MSVR website on http://www.msvracing.co.uk. MSVR will be assisted by MSV F3 Cup Series Manager John Gray, with administration support from the Monoposto Racing Club.

MRC Club Administrator Simon Davey will be the MSV F3 Series Adminstrator/Co-ordinator. He will be the contact point for Series Registration, Race Entries and on-the-day Co-ordination. His existing role as Monoposto Championship Co-ordinator will continue unchanged.

MRC is very pleased at this further development of our relationship with MSVR, and looks forward to working with the MSV F3 Teams and Drivers during 2011.

MSVR will be launching a new website for MSV F3 in the next couple of weeks, and MRC will extend its Website Forum to include a section for MSV F3.

MSV F3 Cup Series Registration forms will be available from next week from Simon, and he can be contacted on admin@monoposto.co.uk

Sounds an interesting development, and I think MSVR will do more for it than BRSCC did when they had the opportunity. My personal feeling, is that MSVR see it as a convenient replacement for Formula Palmer Audi which they have stopped running after 13 years. Developing a new car would be expensive, much easier to champion a series using readily available cars that are that bit too old to be competitive in modern F3.

The danger is that it grows from being a Club series into a career path, although I am sure MSVR and MRC know what they are doing, but do their visions for 5 years time match?

As FPA looked after and maintained the cars, the opportunity to test was limited, which meant people couldn't go testing twice a week and keep chucking new tyres at the car each weekend.

Simon cannot get to a web connection and wanted me to point out that although at the same meetings F3 Cup and Mono 2000 will not be the same races. Apparently a common misunderstanding by the number of phone calls he has had or the wicked rumour mill has been in full flow.
