Interesting. That's probably what you get when you take off the alternator and other parasitic ancillaries, put on a light flywheel, dry sump it and replace the single throttle body with individual ones. Not qualified to comment on biofuels and what advantages/disadvantages they have compared to regular petrol.

Well Castle Combe seems to be investigating a Libre series for later this year. 3 or 4 races to start with, interestingly called Formula MonoLibre! Anyway, could it be a place for all those F3000 cars???

I personally would love for mono to expand there are so many cars out there that have nowhere to race. if noise regulations are the only thing stopping us then we will just have to silence them. many people run f1 engines in hillclimb cars so it is possible. we have silencers for our f3000 car which would meet the regulatoins.i think also an f3 car with a 250- 280 hp motor would be a lot of fun and an easy conversion using the same fitting kit just with a tuned engine rather than standard. also there are many post 1980 f2 cars around which at the moment dont have anywhere to go.

I see that the Masters Historic Racing organisation are planning a Formula Libre event at Oulton Park in March.

The plan was also featured in the 2 Feb 2012 Autosport mag & it seems that Monos own Chris Woodhouse is planning on racing his F3000 Lola. Anyone else tempted to join in?
