Talking of 'dating ripoffs' some years ago we were thrown out of a British Sprint Championship round for not having an 'in date' fuel cell.

Are the MSA not just adopting the current FIA spec which is in the 2008 Yellow Book. Available on the FIA web site.

If I was to buy a Formula Vauxhall Lotus or a pre 2000 Dallara F3, that would come with fuel injection setup from when they were racing in the national series. To remove that setup and fit carbs would cost extra no? I would imagine the engine would need a remap, as F3 uses higher octane fuel. Why a...

The point you made was why put carbs on when it is an additional expense which must mean over and above what comes with the engine from the donor road car i.e. as per the manufacturer's (VX/Opel) standard. If you want to put aftermarket injection on then that in itself is an extra expense and one wh...

I see you have passed the first test of being a real racing driver....never read any regulations. You can run the original manufacturer's specification fuel injection in Mono 2000, 5.7.1.a.

However if you did you would have a power disadvantage.
