Re: COUNCIL OPERATING NOISE CHECKS AS CROFT CIRCUIT

What would be interesting to know is whether it is the static test on race day/test day that the Council is participating in or is it an independent drive by test. Several circuits that I know of already have a drive by test either performed by the local council or one from which all the data has to...

Re: Refurbishing Technomag wheels???

I cannot comment on the correct primer if indeed it is anything special. However if you have the wheels blasted and polished then I recommend you have them lacquered. If you don't they will lose air as the magnesium will be slightly porous and the outside surface exposed to the air will oxidise in w...

Shotblast and powder coat.

Bit out of your way but these guys do a lot of race car parts every day. About £150 plus VAT for a set.

Re: Hewland Mk9 Gear oil ?????????????

GL4 and GL5 have similar anti scuffing additives. The higher the number the better the grade. For our short 15 min races I would use a lighter, 75w fully synthetic. You can get it quite cheaply on eBay in 25 litre drums. If you change that on a regular basis, say every two/three races you will be su...

Re: Dry Break Fuel connectors

I took Douglas to mean 2010.

I have attended MSA C of C and Steward seminars for licensed officials in the last four weeks and from the presentations at those I can say it does not apply to 2009 other than for 'new build'.

We are neither British nor MSA titled, we are MSA sanctioned.

Long live the Esso Blee Dooler!

[quote="RedRedWine Phil Moore Comment Deleted Dear old Basildon Bond clearly has an unrivaled knowledge of the fuel industry which unfortunately is not matched by his comprehension of the ICE. Re: MSA Blue Book correction - Fuel sampling

The jist is, always finish a race with 3 litres of fuel onboard. If you have less, then it's not the end of the world, but will make it easier if you get tested. Worry about the actual testing procedure if you get asked. Which you won't be. Unless you make a habit of breaking mirrors. Now that F3 e...

Sir Fred for the FIA

Having totally destroyed shareholder value at RBS looks like Sir Fred could be about to do similar for Global Motorsport.

Re: Croft loses noise appeal.

The claimants are the ex wife of the current owner of Croft and her parents. Does that put a different spin on it?

Why couldn't she just cut the sleeves off his Armani suits, flush his Chateau Plonk 1947 down the toilet or trash his Porsche as most ex wives would do?

Re: Rain Lights

they have an unusual mounting face angle, as some of our esteemed members freely admit, they are quite poor engineers, the likely hood of them accurately mounting the light to get best performance is somewhat slim. Speaking as one of these non-engineers who last year spent (by my standards) a lot o...

Don't think that there was any competition between GPR & DT anyway - there prices always seemed to be the same to me. I heard that the Minshaws had bought GPR about a year ago. Doesn't mean that GPR are not going down, though. Andy Maybe wrong here but I thought the Minshaws took their money out by...

Just like Dermot if I need metal joined to metal I leave it to Nick Skidmore. May be worth seeking his advice.
