Re: Selling a car overseas

Thanks for all the advice.I'm very much withthe TrpleJ and SGrifin apprach - can't bee too careful. I have sold spares overseas before and have had no problems (touch wood) but as suggested the money gets transferred to account no. 2 the moment it lands in account no.1. Buyer's gone cold any way so ...

Selling a car overseas

Are there any issues or difficulties in selling/exporting a used racing car to another European country? On the face of it, once the purchase price is in my bank account the buyer can send his lorry or whatever and come and collect the car. Appreciate any advice from those who have done this before ...

Re: Medicals

Look on the web for someone local to you who does HGV etc. medicals, they will probbaly do the MSA one for a similar fee. I use one in Milton Keynes who charges about £40.

If that is 'local' to you pm me and I will advise contact info.

Re: Fuel Bladder Repair

Might be worth researching some of the aircraft restorer forums? I know safety in aircraft circles is paramount but who nows what cunning repair methods might have been hatched up over the years for all those crop-sprayers in the backwoods where maybe the inspector doesn't come around too often?

Re: Provisional 2013 race calendar....

Yes, I too would agree its an attractive calendar and certainly from my base in Bedfordshire nowhere is really that far away. But isn't it busy? Time was we started in mid-March and might still be going out again in mid-October - a 8 month long season with, usually, a mind-numbing two month gap thro...

Re: newbie

I started in the 2000 class without any prior experience other than a bit of time racing saloons. Engines in Mono are untuned so there is no requirment to contend with fussy intractable engines or narrow power bands. Also keeps cost down and reliability up. If you are competitive in karts I wouldn't...

Big shout of thanks from Snetterton

Thanks to all those - Simon Davey, the Anstruthers and anyone else whose names I have forgotten who helped out over the Snetterton weekend by providing multiple push or tow starts. Got out in every session despite a starter motor that was in one of those 'I will work everytime on the bench but only ...

Re: Donington beacon position

Nick, Thanks for that but I already have it. Most circuits seem to have the beacon on the right-hand side of the pit straight which is usually the same side as the pits. Donington of course has the pits on the outside. There is however at least one data logging site out there which shows a photo of ...

Anyone know if the Donington timing beacon is on the pit-side of the main straight or the in-side? Thanks.

Re: Can anyone give me a Dummies guide to gear ratios?

As a start point use the ratios on Tony Wilson's site: https://sites.google.com/site/tonywilson43/ These will give a reasonable guide to the in-betwen ratio splits. Then you need to scale according to tyre diameter, final drive and any relative difference in car top speed. So in my case for example ...

Re: Appendix J - Changes

And further if you take the below literally then it it is clearly a challenge to arrive at an arrangement that allows the driver to adjust his anti roll-bars.......... Also, 5.2.1 has been beefed up to make it clear that the driver must be isolated from: '...suspension components including their ope...
