Re: Rain Lights

I've sent a message to Neil at Cartek about bulk buys. The latest M-electronic rain lights have conical diffusers on the back, and can be seen quite well even at the angle in this pic (see link below) and significantly brighter when actually on the same piece of tarmac. http://www.norwichphoto.com/p...

Re: Rain Lights

If for whatever reason the Cartek rain light isn't suitable, then the M-Electronics flashing rain light is also very bright. This is one of the mandated rainlights in F3 Cup, and is more suited for slim carbon housings on the more recent Dallara F3 cars. The round cheap ones like this:- http://www.c...

Re: PIEDRAFITA

With a 25mm restrictor rather than its 31mm restrictor, the engine will not reach the higher rpm where it develops its peak power., because it can't ingest enough air, and if the seals are intact no internal fiddling can take place.

2003 results sheets

Am going through old results to put on the website. Starting at 2003 - as thats the earliest TSL have information on. - Silverstone National - SUNBAC - despite my best googling, I've not found a PDF or results online. Anyone got them for both grids? - Silverstone International - PMC - ditto - Doning...

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

Calling them Wombles is unfair to Wombles.

No-one likes the noise goblins.

Re: Paddleshift

Graham is using the bike's gearbox, so less load required than the original F3 gearbox. Most F3 cars have a flat shift device - i.e. keep go pedal buried to the floor, by having a momentary ignition cut - some by a paddle or button on the steering wheel, done in conjunction with the gear change, som...

Re: Paddleshift

We looked after a car for a while which had an FTR box with a paddle shift system. When it worked it was quite good - however: 1) needed a much bigger battery to power the solenoid and throttle blipper = extra weight 2) the solenoid itself was heavy = extra weight 3) it was very sensitive to adjustm...

First port of call regarding the helmet query should be the helmet manufacturers.

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

We await what the definition of 'historic' is by the MSA and whether the post 1/1/2000 date ruling will apply from 2016.

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

Russ, unless you've got a new car coming out, technically you should be OK until 2016 as the 2015 ruling is for cars built from 1/1/2000 onwards. A 398 has a years grace, so buying the HANS device can be postponed.

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

How many people in Mono will this affect - who has a yr2000+ car and doesn't have a HANS device? If there is a significant number, maybe a group purchase could be made ? Of course, you may need to buy a new helmet with HANS posts, or possibly a helmet manufacturer will fit and certify HANS posts to ...

HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

According to the MSA magazine (page 14), it says: "Frontal Head Restraints will become a mandatory piece of safety equipment for drivers of post-2000 single seaters next year, and all circuit racers (except historic) from 2016 following a ruling from the Motor Sports Council." So, if you drive a car...

Re: Brands Hatch pit access

I was at Brands this weekend. The tunnel was manned (as you'd expect) but also my Msv media pass was scanned at the circuit entrance gate, as was Emma's ticket. This means they know whose pass has been used so you may not be able to use a pass that has been scanned in once to get other guests in wit...

Oulton Park results

For those interested, and because BRDC F4 were willing to pay for it, TSL put sectors in place so there is more information to peruse on the TSL results web site. Not sure all the information is accurate - citing Alistair Bell and Kevin Couling's qualifying 1st sector speed trap speeds as being exam...
