Re: CARTEK Flashing Rain Lights

The Melectronics – F3-2009 appears to be a bright LED but not with a separate flashing function? Or is this a permanently flashing light with no static light function? This is what we have on our F3 Cup cars. It just has a flashing mode. This model is the wide but short type usually seen on the lat...

Re: Mounting for a GoPro Camera

We used our 3D printer to make a mounting that fitted onto the roll hoop, from which the camera can be mounted. Depending on which version of GoPro you have, the polycarbonate case it the weak link - the lugs that connect to the next section of mount often break off. A secondary tether is a very goo...

Re: CARTEK Flashing Rain Lights

The awful conditions at Silverstone GP 2015 early last season, which was where Andrew Colebrooke encountered the slowing Reynard of Marcus Sheard in qualifying, resulting in a trip to hospital for Andrew, and two mangled cars, prompted a lot of competitors to question the effectiveness of their rain...

Re: CARTEK Flashing Rain Lights

I think the key thing will be the presence of a green wire or not.

If not and you've been mis-sold something, Cartek have a switch to make a static light flash.

Re: shipping

If you are using containerised freight, any shipping company should be able to do it. They are used to different things from racing cars to bathtime plastic ducks. The loading of the car is usually done with tie down straps and blocks of wood nailed to the floor fore and aft of the wheels. You could...

Mono 2016 calendar

For those that don't check their emails... The 2016 Monoposto Provisional Championship calendar has now been released. Thanks are due to Douglas McLay for negotiating the calendar. Some key points to note with the 2016 calendar: • We hope to have 16 rounds at 8 race meetings, some single day and som...

Re: 2 Day Meetings

I think 4 sessions in one day is pushing it just for routine turnaround tasks - fuel, recharging battery - let alone fixing any problems / damage that may occur.

Re: Engine Inspection

They're usually lighter because they're either made of a different material, or a different construction technique, or are optimised for weight saving - wall thicknesses, different dimensions. The latter is usually fairly easy to spot as they look quite different to standard production items.

Re: Engine Inspection

The engine will have to be stripped whilst the scruitineer watches, during which they will record and measure things.

Re: New Class Numbers for next year?

The club is independent and isnn't tied to any one particular racing club but currently it seems that for the past few years, MSVR give us the best package deal for the main Monoposto championship. The Tiedeman Trophy this year is on CCRC and BRSCC race cards, and last years saw races with CSCC, CCR...

Re: Go Pro Cameras

There are quite a number of Go-Pros or Go-Pro clones - the quality is good but my main criticism of Go-Pros is that the plastic case is quite brittle and also that the main problem is vibrations - not a problem for mountain bikers, skiers or snowboarders, but a real problem on cars, especially those...
