Re: Specials in Mono

As for allocated paddock space, we always seem to get mugged by the Mazda lot, just like at SIlverstone this year, we were forced to the far end of the extended paddock. It was not the first time either, I remember it happend last year at Donington also. Maybe a clup rep should arrive in time and ma...

Re: Snetterton 300 - two virtual laps of the new circuit

Looks quite good, but coram and russell should be interesting not to take too much speed through the towards the end of coram to stay right for russell. When does the track open for testing?

Re: "Pro" Teams in Mono

I guess as the Club F3 is the MSVR's flagship series, we will not have a chance in getting garages next season? Did Monoposto ever get allocated garages in the past? I dont mean an odd event here or there.

Re: "Pro" Teams in Mono

Define "pro"! Is a team with a truck pro? Even if it's a worn out old truck converted/maintained/improved by an amateur in the home driveway? Is a team with two cars pro? Even if they are both prepared in the home workshop? Does the fact one might be a paid job count as being pro? Some "pro" teams ...

Re: "Pro" Teams in Mono

I was surprised by the comments of the commentator who refered Monoposto drivers as "garden shed junk racers" at one of the races this year. You cannot stop progress, life goes on, we cant all live in the low tech historic times (If you want to, buy a historic and race in historic events), for examp...

Re: Engine pre-heaters

I guess the other thing is as we dont go out of the pitlane and around thw whole lap to form on the grid, we lose 1 lap to put enough load into..so all the warming up is done on the actual green flag lap. Out of interest what grade oils are people using? Surely something like a 15w50 would take long...

Re: Engine pre-heaters

Good point, but I have always run my cars for about 10 mins until the oil gets to normal operating temp, but also making sure the water does not boil over. I would switch it off at around 75 degrees water temp.

Re: Engine pre-heaters

Pre heating the oil in the gearbox..........now that is worth doing. Good for a few horse power at the wheels, a particular advantage on the first lap. Or infact running the box without oil even better. Favourite F3/F Renault trick. I have been trying to figure this out, I have seen a few cars if o...
