Re: Track Limits

Regulation Q14.4.2 in the MSA Yearbook 2014 begins:
‘Drivers must use the track at all times and may not leave the track without a justifiable reason’

My 'justifiable reason' is "lack of talent".... do you think that counts?

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year

Irrespective of if you support the wearing of the HANS device, this MSA rue is a right 'buggers muddle' When is a car a post 2000 car?.... might sound simple but we help out on a pair of Van Diemen FF1600's. One is a 99 and one is a 2004. The look so similar but the 99 looks the newer car due to a c...

Re: Brands Hatch pit access

Yup, I was with my car in parce ferme when Jack Cottle went through the weighbridge/scrutineering garage and scooted off down the pitlane. When he came back the girl in the car was totally distraught and had to be comforted by 2 of the lady marshals while 'jack the lad' just showed no concern about ...

Re: Colin Thorpe

Colin was someone who wasn't afraid to call a spanner a spanner, even if that wasn't always the most popular view... but you knew a) he believed it and b) it was based on a huge wealth of motorsport experience. We usually sought each other out in the paddock, shared awning or garage or swapped spare...

Re: Medicals

I had my HGV medical carried out last year (I need to get a bigger truck so time to do the full licence) and went with one of these types of firms. http://www.driversmedicals.com/ £50 for the HGV medical which seemed to involve about double the work my MSA medical has been each year. No need for the...

Open Pitlane testing (well almost) at Brands Hatch

I did 2 days at the end of 2012 at Brands that were open pitlane all day.It was SUCH a better format than the usual 4 x 25 mins (with the young hot shoes falling off at Druids every 1st lap out! causing red flags)... reminded me of open pitlane at Silverstone 20+ years ago. It is great to drive a co...

Re: Michael Dale

Pleased to hear my fellow RF82 owner is recovering... best wishes from all at 'FatBlokeRacing'. Turning to the car, that was a huge hit to bend an 82 that way. I will send Simon some details of the modifications we incorporated in the last two RF82 chassis we had rebuilt by Peter and Lawrence Denne....

Brands Hatch Thank you..

... to all the club members who made me feel so welcome some 10 years since my last outing with you (nearly 4 since I last raced), I was only keeping the car warm for Mary Whittaker (speedy recovery Mary), so to get the Driver of the Day award on Sunday was most unexpected. My team enjoyed actually ...
