Yes. However, some floors were for wide track rear suspension, and won't fit a narrow track car. Your car was narrow track I think.
Other than that, they should be the same in every way. The floor wasn't upgraded for the 1998 season.

Re: ADDING BALLAST
Lead (either as a lump or as lead shot in a resin so you can cast a shape).
Between the tub and vee/keel thing under the driver's knees (not inside the cockpit!!), but ultimately reaching minimum weight (not being disqualified) more important than weight distribution.

Re: PIEDRAFITA
It's not a statement of fact without facts to back it up, not conjecture or one bit of hearsay. Our Toyota engines were all totally standard internally from a single engine donor and completely within the regulations. In fact, they were actually conservatively inside the regulations. And the never o...

That's quite a statement.RAWPower wrote:All the toyota engines are basically a Piedrafita engine anyway and do not comply with the regs in terms of a Standard engine!

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year
I'd give them my total approval for being mandatory. I would baulk at lifeing (lifing? Life-ing? Lifin'?) them as a unit.

Re: Track Limits
Brands (and a few other MSV circuits) have had the pressure pads for most of 2014. However, if you are anything like me, lack of talent takes you out beyond the sensors, and then it's a case of bribing the observers; everyone is corruptible for the right price (read: beer or bacon sarnies usually).

My advice: Never ever tell the noise wombles that what they are doing is scientifically flawed and wrong. Tried it once. Lucky to be allowed to race.

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year
In 2007 I had a scrutineer insist that because I use a HANS device, I had to have them scrutineered together. Which was rubbish. So don't count on them knowing the rules. Then again, half the time they don't look at fire extinguishers or master cylinder reservoirs, or seat belts or anything. I've pa...

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year
I've come across the thick rubber gloves in Formula E. I guess you'll be trained up, but don't touch the car without the gloves if the warning lights on the car are still red. Drivers are advised to leap from the car rather than step, so they can't form a route to ground.

Re: HANS devices (aka FHRs) to become mandatory next year
The 40 degree one is for very very reclined cockpits. F3's only need 30°. I think FFords are going to be 30° as well. Schroth make a £400 30 degree version. HANS make a £290 20 degree version, and also an adjustable 10-40 degree version for £511 (Demon Tweeks prices). Or you can spent >£800 on light...

Re: Formula Vauxhall Jnr - Brake and clutch master cylinders
There isn't really a correct figure, as it depends on how warm each cylinder is, the speed of cranking, and quality of the gauge and the fittings etc. It's not a case of saying normal atmospheric pressure is 14.7psi, so in a 10:1 compression ratio engine you'd expect 147psi. Anything around 175-200 ...

Re: Formula Vauxhall Jnr - Brake and clutch master cylinders
Master cylinders are the sort of thing that get changes to suit a particular driver, or a change in pad/caliper/design etc, so best to check on your own car as everyone else might have a different size. It's a compromise between feel, pedal movement and how hard you have to press. Some people like a...

Re: gearbox
And if you need the clutch on downshifts (in a Dallara), something's wrong.RedRedWine wrote:http://www.startline.org.uk/slol65/gears/gears.htm
Some of the comments refer to gear changes. The above is William Hewland's take on it.
BTW if you need to use the clutch to change up something's wrong.
