Re: Doug Woodhouse

That's very very sad news. He was an interesting man, and forthright in his opinions, but clearly passionate about racing and talented at what he did. I can say it was a pleasure and honour to have known him, and enjoyable to laugh with him too (I was cautious not to mention Formula Renaults to him ...

Silverstone Testing wanted

Sold out according to website. Not answering call because they're busy with MotoGP! I have two drivers wanted full days on the GP circuit on Friday. Hoping someone here might want to give up their test days for my guys. Happy to pay a small premium for the benefit. Surely some of you have a day book...

Re: Engine Regulations

I think a roadmap of intentions for 5 years isn't nearly enough. I think the club needs to be planning NOW for 10-15 years. The trouble with restrictors is that they can be got around to some extent - that's why F3 engines had so much money thrown at the them to minimise the impact of the 26mm restr...

Re: AP Racing Twin Plate Clutch Problems

For the spline measure the diameter of the shaft and count the splines. For the plate, you could look up the part number that'll be stamped on your one and compare to here https://www.apracing.com/drawings/2016%20Product%20Catalogue/Raceclutch.pdf. Also, I have my doubts that Demon Tweeks would be t...

I'm sure neither of your drivers ever do that.

Re: AP Racing Twin Plate Clutch Problems

Distortion from heat is very common, although later units apparently got a bit better. What you can do is prise the plates out (carefully!), and then file them so that they slide easily, with a few thou of clearance. You can do that several times too if necessary, but check them for flatness when yo...

Re: PI Connector?

I ended up making my own out of some piano wire. Not entirely easy, but didn't take too long.

Re: PI Connector?

That's a two way Sure Seal connector by ITT Cannon.
Can buy them from lots of automotive electrical outlets, ebay etc. Contacts are not always included, so make sure you check and get them if necessary.

Re: Hans and Belts

I believe some HANS people (maybe Hans, maybe Schroth, Maybe Stand21) have said they actually recommend 3" shoulder straps for use with all HANS devices.

Re: advice needed - what connects to this?

No. The bosch one elsewhere is measuring atmospheric pressure, and the one on the fuel rail COULD be used to measuring airbox pressure, but it would normally be mapped to take into account the change of fuel pressure with manifold depression. As it isn't connected, just leave to atmosphere and all w...

Re: CARTEK Flashing Rain Lights

Flashing lights are amazing. And because they are relatively rare at the moment, it means people can't abide by the letter of the law and fit a £10 rain light that is barely visible at night when it isn't raining. Much like I wouldn't go on track without a HANS device, I wouldn't want to race in the...

I think M-Electronics do a half size one - slightly fewer LEDs, but still very bright and flashing. I may be wrong though, so check with them.
