Re: Engine Regulations

Actually if you ran an FR to standard regulations there is nothing for existing members to be concerned about and Paolo I'd support your view. And I'd also suggest the original view the Club was trying to be inclusive. It put its best foot forward proactively in amending its rules to accommodate sta...

Re: Engine Regulations

My post about FR wasn't explicitly meant to be reference to cars not meeting the rules. More to do with what I could imagine to be the sequence of events leading to it. My understanding is the FR cars were originally invited to participate in the championship to provide somewhere for them to run fol...

Re: Engine Regulations

It has come to my attention that some board members seem to want to actively limit the size of the club, FR banning is an extension of this. I just cannot comprehend these actions; from members point of view larger numbers equals lower cost, considering the board should be operating in the members/...

Re: Points system!

That is not exactly what I meant. My F3 Cup illustration of a championship devoid of class structure was meant as 25 points for winning the race and 1 point for the driver who finished 10th in the race. Irrespective of what class. On this basis the guy who has won nearly half the races this year, 4 ...

Re: Points system!

[quote="tristancliffe"] With drivers coming and going throughout a season, I don't think there is a flawless system. In F3 Cup, my class has been on full points all year, but Chris Dittman has recently been only getting half or quarter points. It's actually worked out okay, because the presence of d...

Jordan 191 takes some beating. But what about McLaren MP4/8 or Ferrari 641?

Re: 2000 restricters ?

Why don't all the drivers have a similar car - call it something unique - like a 'one-make series'. Then at least its only a collective moan by all drivers about how boring the racing is. For those who were passionate enough about their views to get to the AGM they would have seen one pretty impress...

Re: GRID SIZES

[quote="AndyY"] And as for car having different speads in different parts of the track, then I accept that's the case, but that is the case now when the 1800s sometimes race on the same grid as the 2 litres - then there are cars which are lapped relatively frequentley & have significantly different ...

Re: GRID SIZES

They state that while general testing throughout the year they have found 2lt cars can be a pain. The b.e.c cars charge through the corners and they get held up, I guess the 2ltr cars are quicker else where? I have been told it can get dangerous and have hurd of several crashes this year at general...

Re: Donington Experience and the BRSCC

[quote="samier"]The engine as fitted to the Juniors is an X16XE engine ( a popular engine in corsas and tigras, possibly astras too. It uses jenvey throttle bodies thats how they ran in the championship from 1998-1999. Why should minimum weight be an issue? They are already at a disadvantage racing ...

Re: Seems cicumstances are against me, yet again!

Silverstone is the next mono round which I might make an apperience but I fear the bad weather may draw in after that, so I supect I will not get the car out to race this year for the first time -after having all the upgrades completed. Will plan to do some testing. Hopefully do a full championship...

Re: Car setup - can anyone help?

Tristan, you have a PM. Will dropping the ride from 50+ to about 42mm make a noticable difference on the level of mechanical grip? I know I still have a good few seconds I need to find in myself, but I can help but think that as the car is setup for hill climbing its some what not totally suited fo...
