What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

Hi. I've owned a Van Diemen RF03 which I've raced on / off in Mono 1800 then 1600 (following Kent conversion). But I've never been satisfied with the seats I've made. I find the two part expanding foam doesn't get under and around your hips and bum enough to give adequate support. I tried Medina Mot...

Re: Go Pro Cameras

I’ve been using a Contour Roam Action Cam for the past couple of years, although I seem to be the only person doing so. Follow the link to the amazon page. http://www.amazon.co.uk/ContourROAM2-Handsfree-HD-Action-Camera/dp/B009CN8VRK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440076922&sr=8-1&keywords=contour+roam I p...

Re: Monoposto 2014

If this is a cost controlling exercise, limiting drivers to one set per weekend surely wont make that much difference. (I'm thinking even the softest slicks will do two qualifying and two races). Surely this could be better managed by stippulating the type(s) of tyre to be used? Even having a new se...

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Can't see how you'd fit one inside the plastic tank on a single seater! Do all Swifts have this issue? Are you able to dip the tank? I made a dip stick for my Van Diemen by run the tank down until the pump picked up vapour. Added 1 liter, called that 0 fuel and added 2 liters at a time and marked of...

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

I've got a spare fuel rail with injectors and regulator if you want to try it. Where are you located?

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

Yeah that's always the problem when it comes to finding intermittent faults. There's only a certain amount you can do before you have to go testing again to see if its fixed.

Have you got the software to view the sensors make sure they are all working as they should?

Re: Fuel Tank puzzle

I'm sure Dave Dibden had EXACTLY the same problem not long after he took the car on. I'll dig out the emails he sent me about it. If you had five litres left and after you pumped it out there was still three in does that mean you pumped out only two? Or did you pump out five. If your running within ...

Re: Where can I get my Zetec Head Skimmed?

Thanks for the kind offer Pete, unfortunately due to work commitments I'm not able to race again until the Oulton Park round in July. So plenty of time, provided I can get someone to do the machining. I've also got tiny marks on the exhaust cam shaft journal bearings where it looks like its rubbed s...

Where can I get my Zetec Head Skimmed?

Last weekend a little trip into the gravel punched a hole in the side pod and a stray stone must have whipped off the water pump belt and the cylinder head cooked. I borrowed a compression tester from Doug, which helped to identify number two and three cylinder to be low, although the water squirtin...

100% in favour of this John. Seemed a bit odd not being in the regulations anyway.

Re: Ztech class

Trouble is, most of the Duratec cars ran lease engines. Premier Power has plenty of engines for sale now, but they are hellishly expensive. The car's aint cheap either. F4 have permitted Duratec's from '11 onwards and only managed to attract one! Which supprised me since the standard Duratec puts ou...

Re: Ztech class

I'm slightly surprised that Mono has chosen to go this way, personally I have mixed feelings about it. I think it has the potential to turn one reasonably strong championship into two weak one's. On the other hand Mono 1800 has had smaller numbers this season and this will encourage more entries. It...

Re: Which circuits will Mono/F3 race next year & get good gr

Gentlemen You are all missing the obvious solution..... GRID GIRLS The answer is simple. Invest in a few hundred quid’s worth of spray on outfits, half a dozen pairs of high heels, make some grid boards and you're sorted. They could also do the trophies, hand out the timing sheets etc... It wouldn't...
