Re: Live snatching of stranded race cars

I was uncomfortable watching the guys retrieving that car. It was wet and greasy and it wouldn't have taken much to slide off into the snatch team. personally I would have been happy with a safety car.

Advice on Iveco please

Good morning everyone. I've just bought myself an Iveco beavertail truck to transport my car. I'm delighted with it, it's a little weird with the six speed semi automatic box but one soon gets used to it. It only has one issue. It was a Tesco delivery van and is limited to 90kph. It looks like 60 mp...

Re: MSA drug and alcohol testing

I have often worried about alcohol levels at early club level practice sessions. I remember watching a TV show when (for science of course) they got the reporter to have a beer, half a bottle of wine over dinner and a brandy afterwards. I know that is quite a lot of booze (I wouldn't have had the br...

Re: Medicals. Licence time

Thanks for the suggestion Jonathan. I would be delighted to sound all your chests and record your collective blood pressures at the awards dinner but I live in Dubai so will not be attending. Should Monoposto decide to hold the dinner dance at one of the many eating palaces that adorn this colourful...

Medicals. Licence time

Many of you will be getting your MSA licence renewals coming along soon. Just a gentle reminder that medicals are valid for a year and if you apply quickly ie before that year is up then you can get your new licence without getting a updated medical. If of course you wait until the weekend before th...

Spa thanks

As I have done in the past, I arrived at Spa with nothing but my overalls and a penknife. I do know that it is very naughty to come to a race weekend with no spares or tools and rely on the generosity of others. Once again I would like to thank my friends in Mono for being so kind to me by the loani...

Re: to those who use trailers

Re truck and towing. I, and I know many others, have got away with truck plus caravan without the unwanted attention of the constabulary and their representatives. I think it helps to travel at nights and weekends as these people are civvies who work office hours. I can think of at least one member ...

Re: to those who use trailers

I have tried the trailer thing both covered and open. Open tows nicer but the car gets covered with road dirt and for open wheel cars this is not nice. A saloon can be filled with all the stuff you need for racing whereas you need to find somewhere to put it all with a single seater. For the last fe...

Re: CARTEK Flashing Rain Lights

Flashing as a red dwarf star might mean once on and once off every thousand years. I agree with Tony perhaps switching it on in the collecting area and off in parc ferme would count as flashing (just not very often). As someone who is quite likely to run into from behind due to my slowness I had bet...

Jules Bianchi

Like all motorsport competitors I was saddened to hear of this young man's death yesterday. Good looking bloke from a rich family who drove Formula 1 cars for a living, he seemed to have it all didn't he? As usual there was a great deal of navel gazing amongst the rule makers about safety measures t...

Spa thanks

May I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped me at Spa? Arriving with no more than a car and a set of wets was very naughty but I hope someone would help out and they did.
Both Jane and I enjoyed getting reacquainted with you Monoposti and we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you to all.
