Update on Michael Dale

Just a quick update on Michael Dale. He was discharged from hospital on Monday, the 17th September, and is being visited by nursing staff every two days at home for change of dressings. Unfortunately he's on crutches as though he's had x-rays on the fractured knee they can't do anything until the bu...

Re: Points system!

Further to my previous post. To avoid confusion, regarding the Nova points system, I suggested that normal points should be multiplied by the number of starters. What I meant was that some calculation could be instituted where a driver finishing seventh in a big grid race would get more points then ...

Re: Points system!

Summed up very nicely Simon. I think there are a couple of points worth noting though. Firstly the Nova awards. Rather than less points for the competitor in a small race I think an equation which awarded the correct points then multiplied by the number of guys in the class would make it fair. That ...

Re: Two Driver Scruitineering?

Mike

You seem to have had a trying time.
The car needs only to be scrutineered the once and you can just sign in on the Sunday.
Are you keeping the same race number. Might be problems if you're not. I'm not sure. I'm sure you can get round it in any event.

Re: Brands Hatch

Sorry I missed you at Oulton.
Unfortunately the testing on Friday prior to our races is on the Indy and not the full GP circuit and as we raced there earlier in the year I can't really see anyone testing.
But I'll be there Friday afternoon so will see you then.

Pre-season visitation

I was in the garage tinkering about the other day when, out the corner of my eye, I saw a cyclist coming down the drive. I didn't take a lot of notice but then a voice said, "Oy. Get a move on. There's only two weeks to go". It was Simon Davey's voice in the tone that he uses to get you down to the ...

Re: Mono Budgets - How much do you spend per season?

I am of the same opinion as Russ that you're probably better off not knowing what you spend on racing annually. You can either afford it or you can't. Apart from the main costs of entry fees etc there are the fringe costs of medicals, license, replacement helmets/suits etc but the costs that are har...

Re: Baking Grand Prix

I'm a bit miffed about this baking grand prix business. I normally eat about 60% of the cakes that Sara brings and ate at least half of Tony Cottons cheesecake. And what's happened. Nobody has asked me to be a judge. Judges will probably be selected from the slimline lettuce brigade who wouldn't kno...

Annual Dinner

I've just been looking at the photographs from the annual dinner. I'm very disappointed. Andrew Cliffe might be a very good motorsport photographer but he doesn't seem to good on people. I only recognised myself by the red tie and the cups that i'm holding. But it wasn't me. It was some fat old ugly...

A very warm welcome to the class Nigel.
I hope you'll be with us for a long time.
Look forward to meeting you at the dinner this weekend.

Re: What do people think of this?

This last comment was a bit nasty. Some of our drivers have seen better days. Who hasn't? But the average age is actually not to high. I admit the average is reduced substantially when myself and Henry's ages are added. With regard to Tony leaving the 1600s. He actually applied for, and got, a leave...

Re: What do people think of this?

I think this looks very promising.
But, it would require a lot of running.
The worst sites there are are those which never get updated. To do this properly you would require a daily update.

Best of luck but think very carefully about the time and effort factor before you progress.

A nice little story.
Marco told me about it at Snetterton. So you have Marco as a fan as well as the kids.

Well done Jeff. or Geoff.

Re: Thanks Simon Davey

I agree 100%. He chases people up to attend the prize givings and also to go out for qualifying and racing. His little speeches at these ceremonies are just enough to be right but filled with shrewd observations and praise where it is due. I'm not sure if the club has made any plans to get a guest f...
